Don’t get lost in all of your club and other extracurricular activities. Remember you’ve really got to focus in on classes and do your best so that if you’re headed into the O&G industry you can make yourself as appealing as possible. Especially with everything going on in the industry right now and Career Fair coming up!
The issue mentioned previously about not having access to the ASME Lounge has been resolved. The lounge will be open whenever one of the officers comes by in the mornings and opens it and will close whenever the last officer leaves for the day (usually after 7pm). The snack bar has also be fully restocked. Please use our easily accessible PayPal payment system if you don’t have cash on you. If we do not see an improvement of balancing out our funds then we will need to take action on how the snack bar is operated. Please also remember to clean up your mess after you’re done with your meal and do not keep food in the fridge for extended periods of time.
Engineering Career Fair
The spring semester Engineering Career Fair will be Thursday, February 11th from 10 am – 4 pm on the second floor of the Hilton. Graduating Seniors will receive a dedicated hour from 9am to 10am to walk the floor before everyone else gets access to it. Hopefully you’re comfortable with the Engineering Career Fair that occurs in both Fall and Spring. Don’t forget to update your resume and E-Connection! If you want help reviewing your resume swing by the lounge and see if anyone is available. More information about the events that usually coincide with career fair will be sent out as we get it.
Texas A&M Regional Engineering Comeptition
TREC will be here the 4th and 5th of March. If you are interested in becoming a team member, please visit this link to submit interest for participation in the competition. Once we get all submissions, we will decide on who will compete and what team they will be on. We encourage underclassmen (Sophomores and Juniors) to compete! As a participant, you will work with your team to solve the engineering problem presented to us the morning of the competition. It’s a great time to get to know some of the other ASME people and add a design project to your resume!
